WATCH: Duterte leads victory party in Davao City

DAVAO CITY—President-elect Rodrigo Duterte has arrived at the Crocodile Park in Davao City for his thanksgiving party.

Thousands of supporters trooped to the sprawling park earlier on Saturday for the victory celebration of the incoming President.

The crowd here celebrates the historic win of Duterte, who got more than 16 million votes during the May 9 elections.

Apart from getting an overwhelming number of votes, Duterte is the first Philippine president who hails from Mindanao.

Various artists and celebrities have performed at the event, including local talents from Mindanao.

Strict security measures are being implemented in the park to ensure the safety of the people joining the festivities.

As of 8 p.m., the crowd at the victory party has swelled to 300,000, according to the Davao police.
