Almost P3 million worth of shabu seized in Negros Oriental
DUMAGUETE CITY—Close to P3 million worth of shabu was seized from a suspected drug pusher during a police operation in Siaton town, Negros Oriental on Monday morning.
The suspect, Raffy Egera Cantiga of Barangay Malabuhan, Siaton town, did not resist when the operatives served a search warrant issued against him by Negros Oriental Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Gerardo Paguio, Jr. around 5:50 a.m. Monday.
Senior Supt. Harris Fama, acting Negros Oriental police director, said Monday’s operation resulted in the biggest illegal drugs haul in Negros Oriental this year.
A search of Cantiga’s house in Siaton yielded three large plastic packs and nine small plastic sachets of suspected shabu, both in granules and powder form.
The shabu weighed about 200 grams and was estimated worth P2.9 million based on the Dangerous Drugs Board value, said Fama.
Also seized during the raid were a Norinco .45 caliber pistol without a serial number and six rounds of live ammunition in a magazine, a weighing scale, improvised tooters and burner, a pair of scissors, a roll of tin foil, disposable lighters, other suspected illegal drugs paraphernalia and P4,950 in cash.
