The southwest monsoon over the western section of Luzon has eased for the meantime but rains are still expected over the weekend, the state weather bureau said Friday.
“The effect of southwest monsoon has weakened but still expected to bring occasional light to moderate rains with isolated thunderstorms over the province of Palawan,” the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in an advisory.
The southwest monsoon is the prevailing weather system during the rainy season.
