SAN PEDRO CITY, Philippines—A police officer was killed while his live-in partner and child were wounded in a gun attack in Pagsanjan, Laguna, police said Friday.
Inspector Roselle Orate, Laguna police information officer, said slain victim Police Officer 3 Dustin Gomez, 40, was driving his motorcycle with his partner Sheen Abadier, 24, and child Jan Daniele, 4, as passengers when they were attacked by unknown gunmen on board another motorcycle around 9 p.m. on Thursday in Barangay (village) San Isidro. Gomez died while being transported to a hospital while his partner and child sustained gunshot wounds.
Gomez, who was assigned in Lumban town, was off-duty and was heading home with his family.
The Pagsanjan police immediately conducted pursuit operations and arrested suspects Moises Bagabaldo, Niño Flores and Brenn Collin Almario, all residents of Lumban, just hours after the shooting incident. Police are probing on possible motive of the attack. RAM/rga
