DAVAO CITY – Former Agriculture secretary Carlos Dominguez III declined to be a member of the Cabinet in the incoming Duterte administration, lawyer Salvador Panelo said.

Panelo said Dominguez cited personal reasons and prior commitments in rejecting presumptive president-elect Rodrigo Duterte’s offer to him to head the Department of Finance.

“Mayor Duterte is currently talking to some people (for the post). There are also some applicants wanting to be considered,” Panelo told reporters at the Marco Polo Hotel here Wednesday evening.

Dominguez served in the Cabinets of President Cory Aquino and President Fidel V. Ramos.  SFM
