1 killed, 12 hurt in bus crash along Manila North Road

SAN MANUEL, Tarlac — A bus conductor was killed, and 12 other people were hurt when a Manila-bound bus smashed into a parked trailer truck along the Manila North Road (MNR) on Wednesday (May 18).

Danilo Manzano, 47, died when his bus hit the truck, injuring the truck driver and his helper, as well as 10 of the bus passengers at 2:20 a.m., said Senior Insp. Abraham Atencio, San Manuel police chief. The bus was ferrying people from Ilocos Norte.

The accident took place after the truck driver parked on the outermost lane of the MNR’s south bound lane at San Agustin village.

The injured were all treated at a hospital in Barangay Carmen in Pangasinan’s Rosales town.  SFM
