‘Rapist’ lured boys to his Manila room using sweets

A 38-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly raped two boys aged 4 and 7, whom he lured with candies to his room in Sta. Mesa, Manila, on Monday.

SPO2 Rowena Espinosa-Albano of the Manila Police District said Lucrecio Larin, a native of Davao City, would be charged with two counts of rape and violation of the Anti-Child Pornography Act. This was after the police discovered nude pictures of one of the victims on his phone.

The alleged rapes were discovered after the 4-year-old boy came home with candies. Asked by his parents where he got the sweets, he told them about Larin who had just moved to the neighborhood. He also said that he was with another boy, the 7-year-old.

Police investigation showed that the incident happened at 4:20 p.m. inside Larin’s room on Road 4, V. Mapa Street. The boy’s parents immediately informed barangay officials, who took the suspect into custody.

Larin later admitted raping the victims and taking nude photos of the younger boy.
