Marcos: Will do everything so people’s ‘true will’ prevails
Vice presidential candidate Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Tuesday vowed “to do everything” in his power to ensure that the “true will” of the Filipino people would prevail in the May 9 national elections.
Marcos issued the statement as he expressed gratitude for winning in the overseas absentee voting (OAV) over his closest rival Camarines Sur Rep. Ma. Leonor “Leni” Robredo.

Robredo, however, kept her lead in the vice presidential race based on partial, unofficial canvassing of the Commission on Elections’ (Comelec) transparency server.
“I am extremely grateful for the overwhelming display of trust and confidence our Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) have given me, as shown in the results of the Overseas Absentee Voting (OAV). As our country’s new heroes, they deserve more from the government and they can always count on my support,” Marcos said in a statement.

The Ilocos region is a bailiwick of the Marcos family.
“But this trust bestowed in me also carries with it the responsibility to protect each and every vote cast for me. Rest assured, I will do everything in my power to ensure that in the end the true will of the Filipino people will prevail in this election,” Marcos added. RAM/rga
