The Commission on Elections (Comelec) late last night declared failure of elections in more areas in the Visayas and Mindanao.

In a resolution, the Comelec said 703 registered voters from Barangay Katuli, Sultan Kudarat, in Maguindanao, were unable to vote because the ballot box, including other election materials, were forcibly taken by unidentified men.

Members of the board of election inspectors (BEI) escaped and were nowhere to be found, the Comelec said.
