Leni may win VP race by 226k votes over Marcos – analyst
ADMINISTRATION candidate Leni Robredo may win the vice presidential race with 226,000 votes ahead of Senator Bongbong Marcos, according to a forecast made by a resource person from Robredo’s camp on Wednesday.
“I don’t want to assure that Cong. Leni will win but if we follow the math, Cong. Leni might win the elections with around 226,000 votes (over Marcos),” Ateneo Professor Alyson Yap said in a media briefing at the monitoring center of Robredo’s camp in Microtel Acropolis in Quezon City.
But Yap said this would depend on the turnout of voters from different provinces nationwide, including those from overseas absentee voters.
Using a can of corned beef—representing Robredo—and a can of Ma Ling (luncheon meat brand)—representing Marcos, Yap explained the surge of Robredo’s votes in the partial tally from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) that put her ahead of the senator.
This amid the allegations of the Marcos’ camp that the unofficial count of votes are being manipulated by the Aquino administration and the Liberal Party.

“Ang mga boto’y katumbas ng 95.59 percent ng election returns o 43,509,348 boto. Ngayon po, inaantay na lang natin ang pagpasok ng mga natitira pang mga boto na hindi na-transmit mula sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng bansa,” she said.
