Comelec: No pre-marked, pink-lined ballots for Roxas, Robredo

They are fake.

This was the reaction of the Commission on Elections to ballots with a pink code which netizens said meant the votes for administration candidates Manuel “Mar” Roxas and Leonor “Leni” Robredo would be counted but not the votes in favor of their rivals.

In a tweet, Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez said that the ballots with a pink line code were “clearly photoshopped.”

“The one on the right is clearly photoshopped. Fake,” Jimenez said when asked to distinguish the difference between a ballot with a pink line and those without sent to him by Twitter user Nokie Villanueva.

A viral Facebook post by a certain Mbaid Nayre first reported that ballots with a pink line code will count votes for Roxas and Robredo.

“Sa mga Botante: If u see with light pink color line on your ballot form. Pls ask BEI to change that because that is already Mar-Leni, even u vote other presidentiables. Pls pass. God bless po sa ating lahat…..” she said.

Nayre’s post has been shared by more than 48,000 users as of this writing.

Jimenez expressed his disappointment with the continued spread of false information regarding the allegedly pre-marked ballots.

“That stupid pre-marked ballot story again. Offensive because it assumes voters are dumb enough to accept a pre-marked ballot,” he said./rga
