Binay fears massive cheating on Election Day
Vice President Jejomar Binay on Friday expressed fears of massive cheating on Election Day.
In an interview in Navotas where he took his campaign sortie on the second to the last day of the campaign period, Binay said he received reports that during the testing of vote counting machines (VCM), voters’ receipts showed that the ballots went to administration candidate Mar Roxas.
“Patungkol lang sa Comelec medyo nakakatakot ang nangyayari ngayon sa Marawi. Ganoon naman ulit ang lumalabas doon sa mga tini-test na mga balota ay Roxas,” Binay told reporters.
“To the Comelec, what is happening now in Marawi is scary. The ballots tested show the name of Roxas,” Binay told reporters.
His greatest fear, he said, was “pandaraya (cheating)” on May 9.

Binay said his camp would be extra vigilant to protect their votes from cheating.
“We will be vigilant. But some people are used to cheating. You’ll be on the lookout but you may not catch what they’re doing there,” he said.
Earlier, Commission on Elections Chair Andy Bautista reportedly ruled out reports that there were cases of switching between the names of Roxas and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte during the testing of the VCMs in Mindanao. RC
