The ministry of El Shaddai endorsed the presidential bid of Vice President Jejomar Binay, his information officer Joey Salgado said on Friday.
Salgado said the announcement was made over DWXI El Shaddai 1314 AM.
“The radio station of El Shaddai DWXI 1314 has announced the endorsement of Vice President Jejomar C. Binay as its candidate for president,” Salgado said in a statement.
Over the radio program, the radio hosts said Binay was chosen “unanimously” by the members of the ministry who were given survey ballots.
The hosts also said Bro. Mike Velarde respected the decision of the majority of the members.
The statement over the radio read: “Sa El Shaddai, ito ang resulta ng ating internal survey tungkol sa halalan, ating ginagalang ang pinili ng karamihan, siya ang ating pagkaisahang iboto sa Lunes, May 9 2016.”
(To El Shaddai [members], this is the result of our internal survey on the elections, we respect the decision of the majority, we would be united in voting for him on Monday, May 9 2016.)
“Agahan ang pagpunta sa inyong presinto, isama ang naakay niyo. For president, ayon sa binoto ng nakararami, sa ating internal survey sa ministry, for president, ang number one ay si Jojo Binay,” the statement said.
(Vote early in your precincts, bring those whom you have invited. For president, based on the majority vote in our internal survey in the ministry, Jojo Binay placed number one.)
The ministry has also voted to support the vice presidential bid of Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Binay and the other presidential aspirants such as Sen. Grace Poe and administration candidate Manuel “Mar” Roxas II sought the endorsement of El Shaddai during its prayer vigil last Saturday. However, Velarde deferred the endorsement pending the results of the survey among the members.

The members of the Catholic charismatic group also supported the party-list group Buhay, which was founded by Velarde.
The group also voted to support the following senatorial candidates: former Interior Secretary Rafael Alunan, former Justice Secretary Leila de Lima, Rep. Sherwin Gatchalian, Sen. Teofisto “TG” Guingona III, boxing champion Manny Pacquiao, former Sen. Francis Pangilinan, Sen. Ralph Recto, Rep. Martin Romualdez, Rep. Roman Romulo, former Metropolitan Manila Development Chair Francis Tolentino, former Technical Education and Development Authority chief Joel Villanueva, and former Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri. RAM
