SEN. VICENTE Sotto III said he was overwhelmed by his standing in surveys, where he consistently landed at the top of voter preference lists.
The most recent Laylo survey for The Standard ranked him at No. 1 with a 51-percent rating.
“I am humbled by the support coming from a wide spectrum of our society, something that I will always cherish for the rest of my life,” Sotto said in a statement.
Once re-elected, he promised to work on bills to benefit the Filipino workers.
He said he would revive his bill that would make it mandatory for employers to give a 14th-month pay to all workers in the public and private sectors.
He said that because of the continued rise in the cost of living, workers should enjoy an additional month’s pay to be given every June of each year to help them during the enrollment of their children.
