Davao City Mayor and presidential aspirant Rodrigo Duterte has no tax liability on the assets given to him by Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Commissioner Kim Henares said Thursday.

Duterte, in an interview on Quiboloy’s late-night show said he had three properties at Woodridge Park, Ma-a, in Davao City given to him by Quiboloy.
Properties in Maa and Matina were indicated in Duterte’s 2014 Statement of Assets Liabilities and Networth (SALN).
He said Quiboloy also gave him a Nissan Safari and a Ford Expedition.
Duterte added the evangelist also offered to pay for his expenses in the United States for neurosurgeon Dr. Martin Cooper for the treatment of his “sweaty hands.”
Henares said the properties and vehicles given to Duterte should be subjected to donors’ tax to which Quiboloy should have paid.
“Wala naman siyang (Duterte) liability…Ang may liability ay iyong nagbigay,” Henares said.
(He has no liability. The one who has liability is the giver.)
“Kung sino man iyong nagbigay, mayroon silang dapat bayaran na donor’s tax,” Henares said.
