Rebutting Roxas’ claim, spokesman says Poe ‘not yet out of the game’
Presidential aspirant Senator Grace Poe is not yet out of the game, her spokesman said on Wednesday.
Valenzuela Mayor Rex Gatchalian pointed out that based on the most recent surveys of Pulse Asia, the May 9 presidential race remains a battle among Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, former Interior Secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas II and Poe.
“Clearly, Sen. Poe who is in a statistical tie, with Sec. Roxas, is not yet out of the game and continues to pose a strong challenge to Mayor Duterte’s candidacy,” Gatchalian said in a text message.
“On top of the survey results, the warm reception she is getting everywhere she goes is another proof that in the end, she will prevail. We are confident that our message and the logistics we placed on the ground will carry her to ultimate victory,” the spokesman added.
Gatchalian was reacting to Roxas’ statement that the presidential race is now down between him and Duterte.
“The fight is now down to the two of us, Mayor Duterte and I,” Roxas said at a press conference.
