Police seized five firearms and bullets for different guns in a raid on a farmer’s house in Balud town in Masbate province on Tuesday, reports on Wednesday said.
SPO1 Zandro Cabintoy, public information officer of the Masbate provincial police, said members of the government’s Special Task Force Masbate and the Balud police arrested farmer Richard Tamayo, 49, in Barangay (village) Villa Alvarez at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday for keeping the unlicensed firearms.
Cabintoy said they found a .45 cal. pistol, two homemade shotguns, an M16 rifle, an M1 Garand rifle, a hand grenade and bullets during the raid conducted through a search warrant issued by Masbate City Regional Trial Court Judge Manuel Sese.
Tamayo, police said, is facing charges of illegal possession of firearms and explosives. RAM
