NPA releases captured cop in Misamis Oriental

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – After more than a month of negotiations, the New People’s Army (NPA) on Monday finally released a policeman it took as prisoner in Lagonglong, Misamis Oriental.

Released was SPO4 Rene Rombo, who was captured when NPA rebels conducted a road blockade in Medina town last April 1.


The turn-over was facilitated by Ka Maya of the NPA and Misamis Oriental Gov. Yevgeny Vincente Emano, who received the policeman from the Maoist insurgents, in Barangay Banglay in Lagonglong.
