Bel-Air’s fest showcases Filipino culture
Filipino traits and culture will be the focus of the 15th annual “Pasinaya” in Barangay Bel-Air, Makati City, organizers said.
With the theme “Lahing Pinoy, Lahing Bel-Air,” Barangay Bel-Air Chairman Constancia “Nena” Lichauco promised that the festival will be bigger and grander this year.
She said the three-day event will further strengthen relationships outside and inside the community.
Pasinaya 2016 will be directed by Bel-Air resident Floy Quintos and produced by Malyne F. Loraynes. This year’s celebration will be held from April 29 to May 1.
Various activities will be conducted to showcase the talents of residents and guests. Activities are not exclusive to Bel-Air residents.
Household helpers will also have their “Gabi ng Kasambahay,” where their talents will be showcased. They will also be entertained by Kiray Celis, one of the funniest child stars today.
Residents and visitors alike can opt to ride kalesas, binge on food booths, join the salu-salong agahan, or watch the “Santa Cruzan sa Bel-Air,” where intricately designed gowns will be paraded. There will also be free driving lessons for children–all on Day 1.
The second day will be filled with friendly competitions and quality entertainment. Children 12 years old and above can join the Amazing Race contest while children 10 years old and below can dress up as their favorite anime or cartoon character for the Cosplay event. Winners will be given cash prizes.
Artists like Colin Salao, Nathan Huang, Hiraya, Actually Not Here, and Clara Benin are invited to entertain the crowd.
A Sunday mass and a Flores de Mayo parade will be held during the last day of Pasinaya 2016. An open Pasinaya Bingo for everyone will take place too, where more prizes will be up for grabs.
Former vocalist of the band Side A Joey Generoso will perform, together with the Power House Band.
All these exciting programs await Bel-Air residents and outsiders who want to celebrate togetherness and camaraderie in Makati City.
The Festival Committee is composed of Chairperson Nena Lichauco, Malyn Lorayes, Michelle Abello, Dhory Alvendia, Susan Andes, Babita Anido, Gina Bautista, Aileen Dionisio, Fortunato Fortuno, Cynthia Genuino, Tricia Lichauco, Ope Lopez, Anto Ocampo, Bella Oposa, Mila Reyes, Peggy Sangco and Estrel Villegas.
