3 blazes hit Metro, keep firemen busy
FIRES broke out separately in Quezon City, Manila and Mandaluyong City, keeping firemen busy for most of Tuesday morning.
In Sta. Cruz, Manila, a three-story building on Rizal Avenue selling audio equipment caught fire around 8 a.m.
Case investigator SFO1 Louie Ebio said it took three hours for them to put out the blaze that started in the Audio City Marketing Co. building and damaged P1.5 million worth of property.
He added that they have yet to determine the cause of the fire which began on the first floor.
In Mandaluyong City, a house storing construction materials went up in flames, causing P10,000 worth of damage.
Arson investigator SFO3 Victorio Tablay said they have yet to determine the cause of the fire that hit the house of Jaime Ang on 29 de Agosto Street in Barangay Hagdang Bato Libis at 4:15 a.m.
Article continues after this advertisementHe added, however, that they were looking at the possibility that the construction materials may have damaged the electrical wiring and outlets in the room where these were stored, leading to the blaze.
Meanwhile, a desktop computer was being blamed for the fire that destroyed 15 houses on C. P. Garcia in Quezon City at 10:36 a.m. Aie Balagtas See, Jovic Yee and Erika Sauler
