No rest for Duterte before final presidential debate

Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is still busy campaigning a day before the third and final presidential debate in Pangasinan on Sunday.

On Saturday, Duterte will be a guest speaker at the graduation rites of the Lyceum of the Philippines at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City.

Duterte graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, major in Political Science, degree in the university in 1968.

After his speaking engagement, the mayor will hold a motorcade and rally in Novaliches, Quezon City.

During his campaign sortie in Silang, Cavite, Duterte was asked about how much he was preparing for the presidential debate in Pangasinan.

“Not so much,” he said.

After the debate, the tough-talking local executive will hold a rally in Pangasinan, one of the country’s vote-rich province.

On Sunday, the Commission on Elections will hold its final presidential debate at the University of Pangasinan. The debate will be hosted by ABS-CBN and Manila Bulletin.

Comelec said the five presidential aspirants all confirmed to attend the debate. During the second leg of the debate in Cebu City, Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago skipped the event to undergo a clinical trial for a new anticancer pill.

With less than three weeks before Election Day, the candidates are expected to square off on issues hounding their candidacy. IDL
