Less than a month before the May elections, presidential aspirant Grace Poe quietly met with former President Fidel Ramos on Wednesday.

But Poe, in a statement issued late Wednesday night, said the meeting had nothing to do with any endorsement.

“I sought time with President Ramos to seek his views and advice on various issues confronting our nation,” she said.

“It had nothing to do with any endorsement. The discussion went well and was very enriching,” Poe added.

The meeting was kept under wraps from the media, who have been covering her campaign.

It was only discovered by the media when an old photo of Ramos and Poe with running mate, Francis “Chiz” Escudero, and other personalities was posted on Facebook by a certain Egay Bonzon.

Reporters then started asking Poe and her office about the photo, which prompted the senator’s office to release photos of the meeting.
