Aquino ‘switches on’ power in 32,441 rural sites

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – President Aquino led, on Wednesday afternoon, the ceremonial switching on of energy for some 32,441 sitios (village sites) all over the country.

President Aquino was in Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental for the ceremonial switch-on of the Department of Energy’s Sitio Electrification Program (SEP).

The SEP is Mr. Aquino’s flagship program which was initiated in 2011 through the DOE and National Electrification Administration (NEA).

Assisting the President in the turning on of the LED lights representing the newly energized sitios under the SEP were NEA administrator Edita Bueno and Misamis Oriental Gov. Yevgeny Vincente Emano.  SFM
