1 of 2 men accused of rape nabbed in Manila
Policemen have arrested one of two men who allegedly raped a former Sangguniang Kabataan chairperson when she slept over in her friend’s house in Manila.
Members of the Manila Police District’s Women’s and Children’s Protection Desk picked up at around 7 p.m. on Sunday Jayvee Ignacio, 27, a resident of Anakbayan Street in Malate, after he was tagged by the 20-year-old as one of her supposed attackers.
The second man, identified by the victim as Ramon Pinlac, 28, of Zafiro Street in San Andres Bukid, is still being sought by the police.
In her complaint, the alleged victim said the rape happened around 2 a.m. on Saturday in her friend’s house on Zafiro Street.
She said that the night before, she and several friends attended a wake and after that, one of her companions asked her to sleep in her house for the night for her own safety.
Ignacio has denied he raped the victim.
