Escudero promises to serve without stealing, biases

Senator Chiz Escudero on Sunday kicked off his participation in the vice presidential debate by promising to differentiate himself from the current leaders of the land.

Escudero said his vice presidency will be a leadership without biases.

“Ang kahirapan walang pinipiling partido (Poverty does not choose political parties),” he said, adding that his leadership will focus on serving others without prejudice.

He pointed out that even the Philippine flag has different colors and that he and running mate Senator Grace Poe chose the color white because they do not want their administration to be colored by politics.

“Dapat ganyan din po ang serbisyo publiko. Walang Kinikilingan (Public service should be like that — neutral),” he said.

Escudero said he will also wake up early in the morning to work and will prioritize the concerns of the majority.

“Pinapangako ko po kailan man hindi ako magnanakaw (I promise that I will never steal),” he said, explaining that he was not taught and brought up by his parents to steal. CDG
