VP Binay watches debate of bets hoping to succeed him

Vice President Jejomar Binay arrived at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) to watch the six vice presidential candidates engage in a verbal joust and talk about their platforms.

Binay arrived at the Quadricentennial Pavilion in UST minutes before 5 p.m., the scheduled start of the first Commission on Elections (Comelec)-organized vice presidential debate.

He was joined by Senator Nancy Binay and dismissed Makati City Mayor Jejomar Erwin “Junjun” Binay.

He has earlier said that he will watch the debate to support his running-mate Senator Gringo Honasan.

Binay is the only presidential candidate who watched Sunday’s debate live.

The issues which will be tackled in the debate include: corruption, poverty, human rights, peace and order and political dynasties.
