Father, son killed as bus hits motorcycle in Cebu town
CEBU CITY—A seaman brought his family to his hometown in Santander, Cebu for a vacation, which ended up in tragedy.
Modesto Juguilon, 52 and his 15-year-old son Aldrich were killed after the motorcycle they were riding was hit by a passenger bus past 10 a.m. on Thursday along the national highway of Barangay (village) Looc, Santander town, about 134 km south of this city.
The two, who were not wearing helmets, died on the spot due to severe head injuries, said PO3 Noel Estender, investigator of the Santander police station.
Rogelio Baran, driver of Ceres bus (with plate number 529 CCE) was detained at the Santander police station pending the filing of charges of reckless imprudence resulting in double homicide.
The Juguilons were from Marikina.
Modesto wanted his family to visit his hometown in Sitio Tagaytay, Barangay Poblacion in Santander after he disembarked from an international vessel.

However, Estender said the Ceres bus was cruising behind the motorcycle as it was heading to the Santander terminal from Cebu City.
Meanwhile, Baran claimed that the motorcycle suddenly stopped to make a left turn.
He said he tried to avoid hitting the motorcycle but the bus still rammed into the motorcycle which was thrown several meters away due to the impact. RAM
