46 passengers evacuated as bus catches fire in Davao Sur

DIGOS CITY, Davao del Sur – At least 46 passengers bound for North Cotabato were safely evacuated after the bus they were riding in suddenly caught fire in Barangay Bato in nearby Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur, the police reported Wednesday.

Chief Insp. Robert Caraoa, Sta. Cruz police chief, said the Mindanao Star Bus Transport with body number 121802 – operated by the Bacolod-based Vallacar Transit Inc. – came from Davao City when it caught fire around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.


Caraoa said the bus was heading for Midsayap, North Cotabato.

He said initial investigation disclosed that electrical faulty wiring triggered the fire. SFM
