Accountant bags P10M lotto jackpot
MANILA — An accountant from Manila claimed last week the over P10-million prize he won in the March 12 draw of the Lotto 6/42.
The 38-year-old father of two was the sole player to correctly guess the game’s winning number combination 20-06-27-38-22-04. He took home exactly P10,017,740.
According to Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Vice Chair and General Manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas II, the new multimillionaire still intends to continue his career as an accountant.
Rojas said that the winner told him he would save a portion of his prize for his children’s education and future needs, while investing the rest to a business. He, however, added that the winner and his wife had yet to decide on the type of business they would invest their money in.
When he claimed his winnings at the PCSO head office in Mandaluyong City on Friday, the winner said he got the number combination from his age, his and his wife’s birth dates and their wedding anniversary. He added that he availed himself of the PCSO’s System 7 feature, which electronically picked seven combinations from the seven numbers selected by the player. For this, the winner shelled out P280.
The winner is the ninth lotto player to win and claim his prize this year.
Meanwhile, in observance of the Lenten season, the PCSO will be suspending its lotto operations from March 24 (MaundyThursday) to March 27 (Easter Sunday), Rojas has announced.
For four days, there would be no selling of lotto tickets and holding of lotto draws. These would resume on Monday next week, March 28.
“The suspension of our gaming activities is mean to provide the respect proper to the solemnity of the occasion and to give lotto agents and PCSO employees the time off to conduct their own Holy Week observances,” Rojas said in a statement. SFM
