BACOLOD CITY — Veteran actress Susan Roces returned to her hometown on Friday to campaign for her daughter, presidential aspirant Grace Poe, and other candidates of Partido Galing at Puso (PGP).
This was Roces’ second provincial sortie with PGP since the official campaign period for national posts began on February 9. She first joined the team in Iloilo, Poe’s known birthplace, last February 16.

Roces and Poe arrived here early in the morning.
Like in Iloilo, the veteran actress will have a market tour in the morning while Poe and running mate, Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero will hold multi-sectoral consultations at San Carlos Gym and Isabela Plaza.
She will join Poe and the rest of the team in a political rally slated at the Bacolod Plaza around 5:00 p.m.
Roces was born here on July 28, 1941 and studied at La Consolacion College. She married the late action king Fernando Poe Jr. and later adopted Poe, who was found abandoned as an infant in Iloilo.
During the Iloilo sortie, Roces ended persistent rumors that her sister, Rosemarie Sonora, was Poe’s biological mother.
Poe has long been rumored to be the illegitimate child of Sonora with the late strongman Ferdinand Marcos. CDG
