Carcar City councilor’s brother shot dead

CEBU CITY—The brother of a city councilor in was killed after he was shot inside his house in Tangasan, Valladolid, Carcar City Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

Arvin Quijano Gantuangco, 45, died inside the ambulance while being transferred from the Carcar City District Hospital to Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City.

Gantuango is the brother of Carcar City councilor Arki Gantuangco.

PO1 Francisco Saberon of Carcar police said Gantuangco was shot at the back of his head and the bullet exited his forehead.

However, Saberon said neighbors heard the gunshots but they did not see who committed the crime.

When the police arrived in the area, Gantuangco was already brought by neighbors to the district hospital.

Meanwhile, stains of blood were seen in the kitchen where he was shot. Two empty shells from .45 caliber pistol were recovered.

Saberon said they were looking at all possible angles, including the fact that Gantuangco was in the police watch list of suspected drug pushers. RAM
