A group pushing for good governance and transparency opposes the Commission on Elections’ possible postponement of the May elections because of the Supreme Court’s order to issue voter’s receipts.

The Filipino Alliance for Transparency and Empowerment or Fate is referring to the statement of Comelec chairman Andres Bautista that the May 9 elections will be postponed because of the high court’s decision to issue Voters Verified Paper Audit Trail or VVPAT or the issuance of receipts to voters.  That is the list of their chosen candidates.

Bautista earlier said there’s not enough time  if they’re going to abide by the Supreme Court’s decision.

According to Jennifer Castro, president of Fate, Bautista cannot reason out there’s not enough time because VVPAT or the issuance of receipts is stated in the AES law.
