Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo raked in five points in the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey and closed in on her top rivals for vice president: Senators Francis “Chiz” Escudero and Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos.

Gaining five percentage points from the last Businessworld-SWS poll in February, Robredo was chosen by 24 percent of respondents in the pre-election survey done from March 4 to 7. The figure put her at third spot.

Escudero took the top spot after edging up two points from February, getting 28 percent and leaving Marcos flat who still got 26 percent.

Considering the survey’s margin of error of + or – 2 percentage points, Escudero and Marcos were statistically tied for first place; and Marcos and Robredo were statistically tied for second.

Senator Alan Peter Cayetano lost five points and went down with 11 percent, but remained at fourth place.

Senators Antonio Trillanes and Gregorio Honasan switched places at fifth and sixth places. Trillanes gained one point getting six percent, while Honasan lost one point moving down to five percent.
