Cops looking for hairdresser’s killer

The Manila Police District (MPD) is looking for a man who was spotted with a male hairdresser hours before the latter was found dead at around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The body of the victim, 64-year-old Francisco Patawaran, was discovered inside the establishment where he worked—Peachy Beauty Parlor on CM Recto in Binondo, Manila.

He had been shot once in the neck.

Based on the report of Senior Police Officer 2 Edmundo Cabal of the MPD homicide section, the victim was last seen alive by his nephew John Rivera on Saturday evening.

Rivera said he was on his way to a nearby video shop when he passed by the beauty salon and saw his uncle watching television.

He added that he also saw a man with a heating cap on his head seated in front of a mirror.

According to Rivera, the man was in his late 30s, around 4’8” to 4’10” tall, of slim build with a brown complexion.

He was dressed in a blue basketball jersey.

Rivera told the police that he returned several hours later and found the beauty salon empty although the door was slightly open.

Rivera said he became suspicious and decided to go inside the establishment to check on his uncle.

When he went inside the toilet, he saw Patawaran lying on the floor with dried blood on his neck and chest.

A bullet, believed to be from a 9mm firearm, was recovered by the police from the crime scene.

The police said that a belt bag in which the victim usually placed his earnings was missing.
