CANDELARIA, Quezon—How can presidential aspirant Senator Grace Poe enlighten the youth today about the real story during the time of former President Ferdinand Marcos?
Poe faced such question during an open forum with students of Enverga University here on Wednesday.
“Meron po tayong Marcos ulit na tatakbo. What are your plans to enlighten the youth today para po malaman nila kung ano yung totoong nangyari noong panahon ng Marcos?” a student asked.
(Another Marcos will run in the elections. What are your plans to enlighten the youth today so that they would know what really happened during the time of former President Ferdinand Marcos?)

The student was apparently referring to Marcos’ son and namesake, Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., who is now running for vice president in the upcoming elections in May.
“Para sa akin kami ay naglalahad lamang ng mga nararapat at kung ano ang mga tunay na issue. Hindi sa paninira sa mga ibang kandidato,” Poe said.
(For me, we are only telling what the public should know and what the real issues are, not to start mudslinging other candidates.)
The senator then advised the students to read history books or watch documentaries either online or on television to find out what happened in the past.
“Maraming mga nangyari sa ating kasaysayan na dapat huwag nating kalimutan,” she said.

“Kung ako sa inyo merong history channel at meron din namang mga documentary ng ibat ibang networks….hanapin nyo, panoorin ninyo para kayo mismo ang humusga.”

“Dahil hindi lamang sa personalidad ng kahit na sino, importante ay malaman natin kung ano ang kanilang katayuan at kung ano ang kanilang plataporma,” Poe added.
