Joanna is running against incumbent mayor Rey Tolentino.
Binay also endorsed the reelection of Cabauatan, whom he called his relative.
“Nakita po niyo si board member Cabauatan, ito eh kamaganak ko. Cabauatan din po ito,” Binay said amid applause from the audience.
(You see board member Cabauatan, he is my relative. I am also a Cabauaan.)
Cabauatan, who has a striking resemblance with the vice president, told INQUIRER.net he is Binay’s cousin because his father and Binay’s mother are siblings.
He said he only met Binay personally when the latter won as vice president.
He said he was separated from his cousin after the deaths of both of their parents.
Binay was accompanied on stage by Aurora congresswoman and former governor Bellaflor Angara-Castillo, the sister of former senator Edgardo Angara.
Angara’s son incumbent senator Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara aligned with the Liberal Party coalition in the 2013 elections.
Binay said Congresswoman Angara-Castillo is his sister in the Alpha Phi Omega fraternity.
In his speech, Binay made the mistake of calling the crowd as locals of Quezon province instead of Aurora.
Binay visited Quezon province last week for his campaign sortie.

“Ngayon, ako ay humaharap sa inyo at damang-dama ko ang kagustuhan na makita ko ang suporta niyo at para marinig ninyo (ako), mga kababayan ko dito, sa lalawigan ng Quezon,” Binay said.
(I face you now feeling your support and your desire to listen to me, people of Quezon province.)
The crowd shrieked at Binay’s mistake. Binay quickly corrected himself.
“Aurora nga pala (Oops, I meant Aurora)!” he said. IDL
