Duterte-Cayetano woo vote-rich Pangasinan

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – The tandem of presidential bet Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and vice presidential candidate Senator Alan Peter Cayetano took their campaign to vote-rich Pangasinan on Wednesday.

Duterte and Cayetano arrived at the Lingayen Airport at 11:26 a.m. via chopper.

The tandem’s campaign here will be highlighted by a public rally and a courtesy call to Lingayen Archbishop Socrates Villegas.

Upon their arrival, the tandem will pay a courtesy call to Gov. Amado Espino Jr. at the Provincial Capitol early in the afternoon.

FEATURED STORIES

A public rally will be held at the Plaza de Lingayen followed by a motorcade to Binmaley town.  The duo will meet Archbishop Villegas at his Dagupan residence after the motorcade.

Duterte and Cayetano will also meet the press at the Lyceum Northwestern University (LNU)  before holding another rally to be attended by LNU students and residents. This will be his final activity in Dagupan City.

The two will be in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur on Thursday.

Prior to his Pangasinan sortie, Duterte had visited Ilocos Norte where he was warmly welcomed by the Ilocoanos.

The Ilocos region, a known bailiwick of the Marcoses, is known for its “Solid North” vote, which refers to the strong electoral support of the Ilocanos to the Marcos clan or to politicians they endorsed. CDG
