KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – A real estate agent, whose behavior was said to have changed drastically after giving birth, flung the newborn girl from the 18th floor of a block of flats.

Residents of the flats in Danau Kota, Setapak, found the infant lying lifeless on the grass with her placenta about 30m away at about 8:30 a.m. yesterday, said Wangsa Maju OCPD Supt. Mohamad Roy Suhaimi Sarif.

The 39-year-old woman is believed to have given birth between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. yesterday.

A married couple, who were renting the flat unit with the real estate agent and her five-year-old daughter, had rushed to her aid when they heard screams of pain coming from their shared bathroom.

Supt Roy said the couple saw the woman bleeding profusely inside the bathroom and had no idea that she had just given birth.

Residents, who were on their way to work, made the gruesome discovery yesterday.

They saw that the infant had severe head injuries, he added.

“Police from the Setapak headquarters located her flat unit on the 18th floor. There was a trail of blood from the toilet to the balcony.

“She seemed stunned when she was arrested. Her daughter was more aggressive. She scolded the police for taking away her mother.”

Roy said the woman was in the process of divorcing her husband.

“We have identified her husband and are trying to contact him.”
