AFTER FIGURING in an all-out brawl the previous game, the Herea Hair Salon bounced right back and notched its first win in the Jr. Cebu Basketball Association (CBA) after defeating the Rap at Concept, 88-74, yesterday at the Cebu Coliseum.
Herea, composed of the core of the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Baby Panthers, were the other half of a vicious melee which happened last Thursday against the Ave Maria Sanctuary and Park.
When the dust settled in that game, a total of 13 players were ejected.
However, Herea shrugged it off and went ahead to get their first victory behind Joshua Corciles, who scored 30 points. Winston Bolivar added 14.
Rap at Concept, composed of the team from the Salazar Colleges of Science Institute and Technology (SCSIT) Baby Skyblazers, remained winless. They were led by John Tocao’s 22 points.
In contrast, Ave Maria fell to Aerophone, 55-63.
Mike Rita led the come-from-behind win with 17 while Prince Malana contributed 13.
The Ave Maria-backed University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Baby Jaguars were paced by the 14 of Reniel Magdali and the 12 of Wilkins Sanchez. Correspondent Jonas Panerio
