UAAP team FEU holds tryouts at USC gym
A CEBUANO cager could possibly land into the bench of a decorated UAAP member school as the Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws will hold open tryouts today at the University of San Carlos (USC)-Main gym.
Cebu’s very own Bert Flores, one of FEU’s coaches, will lead the extensive selection process along with former PBA star Vic Pablo.
The training and selection will kick off at 2 p.m. and will run until 5 p.m. Tomorrow, the tryouts start at 12 noon and will end at 3 p.m.
The tryout will cater to both high school and college aspirants. It is part of FEU’s massive rebuilding for the upcoming UAAP season set to kick off this coming July.
Flores, the multi-titled bench tactician from the municipality of Consolacion, advised all interested cagers to come into the venue in complete basketball uniform.
“I’m proud to be a Cebuano that’s why I am scouting for potentials here to be part of our team. Most of all, I believe in the talent and capability of the Cebuano players to excel in Manila leagues as prestigious as the UAAP,” said Flores, who is best known for steering the Arwind Santos-powered FEU squad to the UAAP championship in 2005.
