14-year-old stabbed after nasty Facebook tiff
MANILA — A 14-year-old highschool freshman was hospitalized after getting stabbed over an “exchange of nasty messages on Facebook” with another teenaged boy.
(This came two days after a 12-year-old boy was arrested in Parañaque for burning his enemy alive. The boy, assisted by his gang mates in beating up the 19-year-old victim, said his actions were a payback.)
In his report, SPO3 Rodrigo Reyes, investigator of Sta. Cruz police station, said the victim in the Facebook feud, a student of Teodora Alonzo High School, was stabbed by another 14-year-old boy while walking along Alvarez Street on Tuesday night.
Chief Inspector Sig Valdez, head of the Alvarez precinct in Manila, said the victim checked out of the hospital Wednesday morning. His parents went to Barangay (village) 334 in District 3 for the possible charges against the suspect.
The victim was walking home when the 14-year-old suspect and his gang mates hit the victim in the face and stabbed him several times.
“Matagal na away nila. Naging matapang lang yong suspect kasi madami sila (They had a long-standing feud. The suspect had the guts to attack because he was with many gang mates),” Valdez said in an interview.

Reyes said the victim told police that about 10 people mauled him. Most of them were minors, he added.
However, the boy was only able to identify the other 14-year-old and one of the latter’s accomplices.
Valdez said the parents of both suspect and victim met at the barangay, with the former vowing to help pay for the latter’s medical expenses. (Report by Jonathan Leonor, Inquirer trainee) SFM
