Zambales widow killed three months after husband’s murder
OLONGAPO CITY – A widow was shot and killed by two unidentified motorcycle-riding assailants in Zambales’ Sta. Cruz town on Tuesday, three months after her husband’s murder, police said.
Teofila Venturozo, 55, was on board a moving tricycle along the national road when the suspects drove past and opened fire, hitting her three times at 4:55 p.m. in Barangay (village) Poblacion South.
Venturozo died while being treated for multiple gunshot wounds in a hospital in Iba town, said SPO2 Alvin Mantes, assistant investigator at Sta. Cruz police station.
Police recovered two empty shells of caliber .9mm pistol from the crime scene.
Last year, the victim’s husband, Benito Venturozo, was also shot and killed by still unidentified gunmen, police said. The case has not been solved. CDG
