PPP officer resigns

President Aquino has accepted the resignation of Cosette Canilao, executive director of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center,  effective  March 8, according to Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr.

In a Feb. 15 letter to Canilao released by Malacañang Monday night, Ochoa informed her that Mr. Aquino had accepted her resignation, as he thanked her for her “valuable and dedicated service in the government.”

Canilao tendered her irrevocable resignation on Jan. 27,  citing “pressing family concerns.”

In her letter to the President, she said she was “eternally grateful for the trust and support” given to her by the Chief Executive and the Cabinet secretaries she was able to work with during her stint as PPP Center executive director.

“I am glad to report I am leaving a strong institution—the PPP Center,” Canilao said, as she noted the need to continue the center’s mandate of implementing more infrastructure projects.

She recommended lawyer Andre “Raj” Palacios, a consultant for the PPP Center, to the President as her  replacement.

Canilao described Palacios as “highly reliable with unquestionable integrity and equipped to take on the gargantuan task of leading the center.” Christine O. Avendaño
