In Cabanatuan, a coming out party for Heart
CABANATUAN CITY—For the first time since the national election campaign began, vice presidential candidate Sen. Francis Escudero was joined in the campaign trail by his actress wife, Heart Evangelista, when they visited this city on Friday.
Evangelista, sporting a white long sleeve blouse bearing a “Vote for Chiz” sticker, said she had to convince her husband to allow her to help in his campaign.
She said she did not mind the long journey because traveling has been part of her work as an actress. She said she had always been a fan of Escudero, even before they met and wed. She said Escudero’s performance as a lawmaker was impressive.
“He is really worthy of the position he is running for,” she said.
Evangelista also discussed the plight of farmers and fishermen who, she said, need massive support from the government. She said she studied their plight by reading on agriculture and the history of Philippine food production. Armand Galang, Inquirer Central Luzon
