ROXAS CITY—From her known birthplace in Iloilo City, Senator Grace Poe is now in the known bailiwick of her rival, former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, to hold campaign activities.
Poe arrived here Wednesday with running mate Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero. They are both scheduled to meet the media here first before attending the Youth Leaders Forum in the afternoon.
The two, along with their senatorial bets under their team dubbed as “Partido Galing at Puso,” were in Iloilo Tuesday where they held a political rally at the Jaro Plaza, just across the Church where the lady senator was supposedly found abandoned as an infant.
Poe’s adoptive mother, veteran actress Susan Roces, joined them in the Iloilo sortie attended by thousands of residents there.

Poe, Escudero and Roces, in separate speeches, noted that the presence of Illongos in the rally contradicted their opponents’ claim that the province is supporting other candidates.
Senate President Franklin Drilon earlier claimed that the administration’s bet Roxas and running mate Camarines Sur Representative Leni Robredo “will carry Iloilo.”

“Sabi nila wala daw pupunta dito dahil meron daw ibang kandidato ang Iloilo. Hindi po totoo yan sa nakikita kong dami nyo dito! Maraming marami pong salamat!” Roces said when she spoke before the rally.
(They said no one will attend here because Iloilo is supporting other candidates. Such claim is not true based on the thousands of you who are here. Thank you very much!)

Poe also thanked the crowd for staying despite the rains.
“Inulan tayo pero hindi kayo umalis,” said the lady senator.
