Binay hits Aquino administration for ‘sin’ of poverty

Vice President Jejomar Binay blamed the Aquino administration for committing the “sin” of poverty despite claims of a booming economy.

In his speech before a crowd of residents in Barangay 178, Pasay City at the covered court on Monday, Binay said the administration should be faulted for ignoring the poor while making the wealthy richer as the country experiences economic growth.

Binay blamed the administration for misgovernance.

He said the Aquino government is awash with funds, but it has preserved its savings instead of spending these for social services.

“Ang administrasyon na ito ay may kasalanan kung bakit patuloy ang kahirapan dahil sa maling pamamahala,” Binay said before a frenzied crowd who cheered for him in between his speech.

Binay reiterated his rosy promise to provide free social services to the poor.

Binay said his administration would signal the dawn of change as he vowed to provide free social services to the poor.

As the vice president gave out his promise of giving social services for children, an elderly lady was heard saying: “Sige, push mo ‘yan,” before walking out.

Despite this, Binay was generally received by the crowd with a warm response, cheering for him with his every promise, especially his vow to improve the conditional cash transfer.
