10 senatorial bets join Poe-Escudero rally in Pangasinan

SAN CARLOS CITY, Pangasinan—Ten senatorial candidates joined Senators Grace Poe and Francis “Chiz” Escudero in a proclamation rally on Friday at the Department of Education Central 2 here, the team’s first political sortie outside Metro Manila.

The senatorial bets were reelectionist Sen. Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, former Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri, Representatives Sherwin Gatchalian, Neri Colmenares, Samuel Pagdilao and Roman Romulo, lawyer Lorna Kapunan, Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno, migrant workers’ advocate Susan “Toots” Ople, and actor Edu Manzano.

Absent during the rally were reelectionist Sen. Ralph Recto and former Sen. Richard “Dick” Gordon.

Recto, who is also a candidate of Liberal Party, was also absent during Partido Galing at Puso’s kick-off rally at Plaza Miranda on Tuesday.

Also absent during the kickoff were Zubiri and Manzano, but the latter showed up at the proclamation rally here.

Among the crowd’s favorites were Sotto, Moreno, Manzano, Escudero and Poe. RC
