PANGASINAN, Philippines – Candidates of Partido Galing at Puso led by Senators Grace Poe and Francis “Chiz” Escudero juggled their schedules on Friday morning to visit two universities in this vote-rich province.

Poe and Escudero, along with some of their senatorial bets, simultaneously held talks with students at the University of Luzon and the University of Pangasinan.

Escudero first went to the University of Luzon with some senatorial bets while Poe went directly to the University of Pangasinan past 10:00 a.m. to join other senatorial bets there.

But after greeting the students at the University of Pangasinan, Poe immediately left and proceeded to the University of Luzon to join her team there.

Poe came back to the University of Pangasinan an hour after and was followed by Escudero just a couple of minutes after.

Both Poe and Escudero were welcomed by a loud cheer from the students when they came separately.

Also received by the screaming crowd was reelectionist Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, the consistent front runner in the senatorial surveys.

Sotto brought with him the magic of the popular “AlDub” or Alden Richards-Maine “Yaya Dub” Mendoza tandem of noontime show “Eat Bulaga,”

Sotto is one of the regular hosts of Eat Bulaga.

The “Kalyeserye” loveteam did not join the party’s Pangasinan visit, however, drawing questions from the crowd.

“Galing po kami sa University of Luzon, may nagtatanong po sa akin doon, dito rin sa labas: Bakit hindi mo kasama si AlDub?”

“Sinabi ko po yung totoo, sabi ko ayaw nilang ma-involve sa pulitika e,” he said.

(We came from the University of Luzon, and someone there asked me, just as someone here did: Why isn’t AlDub with you?

I told them the truth, I said I didn’t want them to get involved in politics.)

This was the reason why, he said, the tandem would not also endorse him in the May elections. CDG
