Bishop reminds bets: Don’t dupe voters

/ 04:18 PM February 11, 2016

A bishop has urged politicians seeking posts in the upcoming May elections to remain truthful and not to resort to duping voters.

In a radio interview, Novaliches Bishop Emeritus Teodoro Bacani laid out his four demands to candidates—all of which zeroing on “common good.”

On the voters’ end, the bishop said that the electorate should scrutinize the platforms of the candidates and to shun the practice of selling their votes.

Bacani said that the voters should think what is good for the country by not choosing corrupt politicians.

Bacani seemed to echo Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle’s message for this year’s Ash Wednesday.

In his message, Tagle lashed out against politicians who promote themselves under the guise of “charity.”
