Ejercito, former governor of Laguna, also graced the campaign event, later accompanying Binay to the Diocesan Shrine of Jesus in the Holy Sepulchre to observe Ash Wednesday.
In an ambush interview after the program, Binay said Laguna is a “sister city” of Makati.
“Tayo po ay may good relation. Kami ay nagpapasalamat, ako lamang po ang itinuturing na kaibigan sa pamahalaan sa hirap at ginhawa,” Binay said.
(We have good relations. We are grateful, I am considered as an ally in governance for better or worse.)
Ejercito was disqualified by the Commission on Elections in 2013. His disqualification from governor after winning the 2013 polls was upheld by the Supreme Court. He is seeking to regain the governor seat this year. CDG
